New HLV Logo
Just a quick update, nothing earth-shattering (just yet)
I’ve finally got around to re-designing the Hex, Lies & Videogames logo.
The original one was always meant to be a stand-in, but I never seemed to have the time to rework it.
While sketching without thinking, I realized that by overlapping H, L and V, it looked like a simple superhero graphic, and so the new logo was born.
The emblem is a good way of relaying how a players alter-ego is triggered via gaming. I’m happy with it.
The next step was to photograph the logo with my phone, load the image into Illustrator and image trace it, to make it a vector. Once I had that, I could scale and color it anyway I wanted to.
I decided on putting the emblem on a simple blue square, with a rough edge. This way, the emblem now has a distinct color which is bright and bold.
Finally, I had to find a font that would go well with the emblem. I went with Robolt Battery
It’s cleaner, simpler, bolder and is more fitting of this site.
It could work well on merchandise, too:
